Election of new Board of Directors

The club held its Annual General Meeting last Saturday at which time the membership elected a new Board of Directors.  Returning to the Board for 2009/2010 are:

Allan Bownam
Paul Richardson
Fred Simpson
Randy Vanness

Joining the Board for the first time this year are:

Peter Lubig
Owen Sneath
Tom Stiff

Retiring after many years service to the club are Leo Avendano, Dan Daigle & John Galloway. Dan will continue to act as the club's Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) for the next few months in order to facilitate a smooth handover to the incoming PRM.

The new Board will appoint the officers of the club at its first meeting; yet to be scheduled.

If you have not already done so, be sure to mail or drop off your annual membership dues this month.

Flying members should note that their access to the aircraft booking calendar will automatically be restricted if dues are not received by May 15th


May Club Meeting

Anthony NaliThe next club meeting is Thursday May 21st, 7pm at Edenvale.

Guest speaker Anthony Nali will be giving a presentation on the Zaon Flight Systems PCAS [Passive Collision Avoidance System].


Fly-in breakfast

Edenvale will be hosting a fly-in on Sunday May 10th that will include an all day breakfast.

8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Stop by and support the cafe.


121.5 MHz

Now that 121.5 MHz is no longer monitored by satellite all pilots are encouraged to monitor 121.5 whenever possible.  With the dual radios in the club plane this should not pose a problem.


Toronto VNC

If you have not yet purchased the current Toronto VNC or VTA, the club still has a few copies left. You can buy them online at the club's pilot shop.


ASL 2/2009

Pickup a copy of the current Aviation Safety Letter from Transport Canada.

And while you're at it, don't forget to keep up to date on the latest AICs and AIP Sups.
